Mapmaker Jane Crosen

The online source for a collection of detailed, elegantly hand-drawn maps of Maine regions by Maine artist Jane Crosen, Mapmaker. Available as T-shirts, poster-sized prints suitable for framing, and large-format postcards and notes for correspondence or giving directions.

Combining elements of nautical charts, topo maps, and charts of early explorers, each map is an accurate portrait of a unique Maine region, drawn by hand in a graceful, uncomplicated illustrative style. With calligraphy place names, symbols, and legend, each design is a well-informed "treasure map" of the region's scenic and recreational points of interest. While the look is timeless, the information is current and well-researched. Maps are available as one- or two-color posters, postcards and notecards, or silkscreened on T-shirts and sweatshirts, all printed locally in Maine with careful attention to detail by two fine second-generation printers.

Each order is filled personally by the artist and shipped from her studio in Penobscot, Maine. All the items displayed here, including map postcards, notecards, posters, coasters, T-shirts, and sweatshirts, and the Maine Mapmaker's Kitchen cookbook and notecards, may be ordered online, using the shopping cart and paying by credit card.
